ABOUT KEES
I've lived in the Veluwe region since 1970 and spend as much of my free time as possible surrounded by nature. As a child, I was fortunate enough to have two perches at my disposal.
From a perch, I could observe wildlife in peace and quiet, and through play, I learned to recognize and interpret the animals' behavior and posture. It even got to the point where I could tell which species they were alerting by the alarm calls of robins or blackbirds, or even if there was a person walking in the woods.
That was something I really enjoyed, but it was considered normal because it was learned through play, so unnoticed. These days, I'm still inseparable from the woods and simply can't live without nature.
A few years ago, I bought a camera purely for my own personal use, capturing images in nature. I never even considered doing anything with it.
That's why I was incredibly curious to see what Marcel would create with all my images. It wouldn't have been an easy task, but I must say he's succeeded quite well in creating a beautiful and unique story, one that goes beyond just a few images from nature.
Who knows, maybe I'll meet you again someday, at the cinema, or perhaps wandering through our beautiful Dutch countryside.
